The Vitamin That Sparked Magic
Emma stared at the orange gummy vitamin on her kitchen table. "I don't want to take it," she grumbled. But her mom had said it would make her strong, so she popped it into her mouth.
Suddenly, everything began to glow! The kitchen walls sparkled like diamonds. Emma gasped as her sneakers started bouncing on their own—boing, boing, boing!
"You summoned me!" squeaked a tiny voice. Looking down, Emma saw a bright orange creature no bigger than her thumb, wearing running shoes and a cape made of sunshine. "I'm Zing! Your vitamin friend!"
Emma's eyes widened. "You're my vitamin?"
"I'm the magic inside it!" Zing did a cartwheel. "And I'm here because you need adventure!"
Before Emma could ask what that meant, Zing grabbed her hand—or tried to, being so small—and suddenly Emma was running! Not just ordinary running, but magical running where each step made rainbow-colored footprints.
They dashed through the backyard, which had transformed into a candy forest. Trees with chocolate bark and lollipop flowers stretched toward the sky. Emma laughed as she leaped over rivers of strawberry milk.
"The better you run, the stronger you get!" Zing cheered, zooming beside her. "That's my magic gift!"
Emma spotted a squirrel stuck in a bush, trembling. Without thinking, she sprinted toward it, moving faster than she'd ever moved before. She scooped up the little creature and cradled it gently.
"Thank you!" whispered the squirrel, twitching its nose. "You saved me!"
Zing did backflips of joy. "See? Running isn't just about speed—it's about helping others!"
Emma suddenly understood. She wasn't just running for fun; she was running to make a difference.
When they returned to her kitchen, the magic faded. Emma looked down at her empty plate, then at her own strong legs. She smiled, knowing Zing would always be with her whenever she moved with purpose.
The next morning, Emma eagerly took her vitamin, ready for whatever adventure—and whatever new friend—might appear.
