The Vitamin Stars
Leo sat by his fishbowl, watching his pet goldfish Finny swim in lazy circles. "I don't want to eat my spinach," Leo grumbled. "It's yucky."
Finny swam to the surface and - to Leo's amazement - whispered, "Leo, spinach isn't just food. It's filled with vitamin star-dust from the magical realm of Vitalia!"
Leo's eyes widened. "You can talk?"
"I'm a guardian from Vitalia," Finny explained. "Our Vitamin Stars are fading because children won't eat their vegetables. We need a hero to save us!"
Curious, Leo took a bite of spinach. Suddenly, lightning energy rushed through his body! He felt stronger, faster, like he could do anything.
"The power lasts through your baseball game tonight," Finny said. "Hit the ball into the sky, and the energy will restore the Vitamin Stars!"
That evening, Leo stepped to the plate. His team needed one more out to win. The pitch came - CRACK! Leo swung, and the baseball shot upward like a streak of lightning, exploding into brilliant green sparkles.
Above them, the dim stars suddenly blazed bright again.
"You saved us!" Finny cheered the next morning. "But remember, Leo - the real magic wasn't the spinach. You were brave enough to try something new."
Leo smiled, understanding now. True power comes from curiosity and an open mind. The most amazing magic of all? It had been inside him all along, just waiting for him to believe.
Now whenever Leo sees spinach, he doesn't see yucky greens. He sees possibility - and a reminder that even small choices can make the universe shine brighter.
