The Vitamin Spy and the Friendly Zombie

Emma was running through her backyard when she spotted something strange behind the old oak tree. It looked like a zombie! Its arms dangled loosely, its face was greenish, and it moved in a slow, wobbly way.

Her heart pounded. Emma had seen zombies in movies, but never in real life! She hid behind the bushes, too scared to move.

Then she heard giggling.

"Got you!" A familiar voice said.

Emma peeked out. It was her best friend Sam, wearing green face paint and old clothes that were too big. He was pretending to be a zombie!

"Sam!" Emma laughed, relief washing over her. "You scared me!"

Sam grinned. "I was practicing for my spy mission. Spies have to blend in, right? What's better than a zombie? Nobody notices zombies."

"A spy mission?" Emma asked.

Sam pulled a small orange bottle from his pocket. "Magic vitamins. One pill makes you invisible. Another lets you speak to animals. My brother told me."

Emma's eyes widened. The possibilities sparkled in her mind like stars.

"I want to be a spy too!"

"Then we need a secret handshake," Sam said seriously.

They spent the afternoon running through the yard, spying on squirrels (who were definitely planning something), and hiding from imaginary zombies behind every tree. The "magic vitamins" turned out to be regular chewable vitamins from Sam's kitchen, but that didn't matter.

"Wait," Emma said later, examining the bottle. "These aren't magic at all."

Sam's face lit up with a mischievous smile. "I know. But wasn't it more fun when we pretended?"

Emma realized Sam had taught her something wonderful. The magic wasn't in the vitamins. The real magic was having a friend who could turn an ordinary afternoon into an adventure.

"Best zombie spy ever," Emma said, giving Sam a hug.

"Best vitamin spy partner," Sam agreed.

And every time they took their vitamins after that, they'd wink at each other, knowing the real secret—friendship is the greatest magic of all.
