The Vitamin-Pool Wonder

Leo wrinkled his nose at the orange chewable tablet on his spoon. His mom called it his morning **vitamin**, but Leo called it the yucky thing that ruined breakfast. He swallowed it quickly and grabbed his **baseball** glove. Today was the biggest game of the summer, and Leo's team, the Shining Stars, needed him.

"Leo! Wait up!" His best friend Maya ran down the sidewalk, her red ponytail bouncing. "My dad filled up the inflatable **pool** in my backyard. Want to practice your pitching afterward? We can cool off!"

Leo grinned. Maya's pool was the best—sparkling blue and always the perfect temperature. But first, the championship game.

The game was tied in the last inning when Leo stepped up to bat. The pitch came flying toward him. CRACK! Leo hit the ball so hard it sailed over the fence, over the trees, and—PLOP—landed right in Maya's backyard **pool** with a giant splash!

"Out of the park!" the umpire shouted. The Shining Stars won!

After the celebration, Leo and Maya ran to her house to fish out the lucky baseball. But when they reached the pool, they stopped in wonder. The water wasn't just sparkling—it was glowing with tiny golden lights, like captured stars. And floating in the middle was the baseball, bigger than before, covered in shimmering letters.

"What does it say?" Maya whispered.

Leo leaned closer. "THE MAGIC YOU NEED IS ALREADY INSIDE YOU."

Suddenly, he remembered his morning **vitamin**. The one that made him strong enough to hit the winning home run. The one his mom said helped him grow, learn, and stay healthy.

"It wasn't just the vitamin," Leo said, his eyes wide with discovery. "It was believing I could do it. That's the real magic."

Maya smiled and splashed water at him. "That, and having a best friend to cheer for you!"

They laughed and jumped into the glowing pool together, and the golden lights danced around them like tiny fireflies. Leo realized that sometimes the most wonderful surprises come from the things we think are ordinary—even the yucky orange tablets and everyday backyard pools.

That night, Leo swallowed his vitamin without wrinkling his nose. Because now he knew—magic was everywhere, if you just believed in yourself and looked for it with an open heart.
