The Vitamin of True Friendship

Emma loved her bedroom at midnight. That's when the magic happened.

One Tuesday, as moonbeams danced across her rug, something extraordinary appeared. A tiny glowing **vitamin** descended from the sky, twinkling like a fallen star. It drifted down to Emma's toy shelf and settled on her favorite teddy **bear**, Barnaby.

"What's this?" Barnaby wondered, his fuzzy brown face scrunching with curiosity. The vitamin's light surged through him, and suddenly—POP!—Barnaby stretched his paws and blinked his button eyes. He was ALIVE!

Down on the rug, Emma's sleepy puppy, a spotted **dog** named Dotty, lifted her head. Her tail thumped against the floorboards. "Barnaby?" she woofed softly. "You're moving!"

"And I'm not the only one," Barnaby whispered, pointing a plush paw toward the toy box.

From inside crawled a small green figure—the toy **zombie** Emma had gotten for Halloween. His name was Zigg, and all the other toys avoided him because they thought zombies were scary. But Zigg wasn't scary at all. He was just lonely.

"I... I can move too?" Zigg whispered, his stitched mouth widening into a surprised smile. The magical vitamin's glow touched his plastic skin, making it shimmer emerald instead of looking creepy.

"You're beautiful!" Dotty yipped happily, bounding over to greet him.

Zigg's plastic eyes filled with happy tears. "Nobody's ever called me beautiful before."

"That's because nobody ever really LOOKED at you," Barnaby said wisely. "They only saw what they THOUGHT a zombie should be. But now we see YOU."

The vitamin's magic had done something extraordinary—it had given them the power to see with their hearts, not just their eyes.

All night long, the four new friends danced across the moonlit floor. Zigg turned out to be the funniest dancer of all, doing a wiggly zombie wiggle that made Dotty bark with laughter. Barnaby told stories about all the tea parties he'd attended with Emma. Dotty showed them her best tricks, rolling over and playing dead (which made Zigg laugh so hard he fell over).

"What happens when the vitamin stops glowing?" Zigg asked as dawn approached.

"We'll remember," Barnaby promised. "Friendship doesn't need magic. It only needs hearts that are open."

The next morning, Emma found her toys arranged in a cozy circle—Barnaby, Dotty's favorite chew toy, and Zigg, who wasn't hidden in the toy box anymore, but displayed proudly on her pillow.

From that night on, Emma didn't need a magical vitamin to bring her toys to life. She'd learned the real magic—seeing the best in everyone, even those who seem different at first glance. And every night, in her dreams, the zombie, the dog, the bear, and the girl who believed in magic had the most wonderful adventures together.
