The Vitamin of Courage

Lily was the shyest girl in Sunshine Valley. While other children spent their afternoons splashing in the creek or climbing trees, she sat on her porch watching. She wished she could be brave like them.

One afternoon, Lily found something unusual in her grandmother's garden. It was a tiny bottle with a label that read: "Extra Vitamin – For Brave Hearts Only." Inside sparkled crystals that looked like crushed rainbows.

"Just one," Lily whispered. She swallowed a crystal.

Suddenly, her legs felt lighter! She found herself **running** through the meadow, grass tickling her toes. She ran faster than ever before, laughing as the wind kissed her cheeks. At the edge of the woods, she met Finn, a boy with messy brown hair and dirt on his nose.

"Want to see something magical?" Finn asked. Lily nodded, surprised she wasn't nervous at all.

He led her to a hidden pond where the **water shimmered like liquid diamonds.** "Watch this," Finn said, and dove in. When he surfaced, tiny fish were swimming around him like they were dancing.

"Now you try!"

Lily had never gone **swimming** before. She was afraid of putting her face under. But something gave her courage. She slipped into the cool water and kicked off from the bank. At first, she thrashed awkwardly. But then she relaxed, letting the water hold her like a gentle hug. Soon she was gliding beside Finn, with fish weaving between her fingers like living jewels.

"You're a natural!" Finn cheered.

They spent the afternoon exploring – finding secret waterfalls, chasing butterflies, and sharing stories about their dreams. As the sun began to set, they sat on the bank, toes in the water.

"I wish every day could be like this," Lily sighed.

Finn smiled. "The bottle didn't give you courage, Lily. You were brave all along. The real **vitamin** for a happy heart is trying new things with good friends."

Lily looked at the empty bottle in her hand. The sparkles were gone, but she realized Finn was right. The magic hadn't been the crystals at all. It had been inside her all along, waiting to be set free.

"Race you back!" she called, already running toward home with her new best friend right beside her.

From that day on, Lily was never the shyest girl in Sunshine Valley again. She was the one who wasn't afraid to try, to laugh, to make friends – and to help others find the courage that lived inside them too.
