The Unposted Moment

Maya's paws clicked against the concrete deck, her golden fur already dripping. My aunt's **dog** had zero chill around water—she treated every swimming opportunity like a personal challenge from the universe.

"She doing okay?" Tyler asked, grinning that grin that made my stomach do weird gymnastics. He was leaning against the fence,Snapchat camera already rolling.

"Maya's a beast," I said, trying to sound casual instead of internally screaming. Tyler Nguyen. At Jordan's pool party. Actually talking to me.

My **iPhone** buzzed in my beach bag—probably my mom asking if I'd taken my **vitamin** D supplement yet, because apparently sixteen-year-olds need reminders about basic health maintenance. I ignored it. Nothing killed the vibe faster than your mom blowing up your phone about wellness.

"You going in?" Tyler asked, nodding toward the **pool**.

The water sparkled like something out of a music video. Everyone was already splashing around, Jordan's expensive speakers bumping that summer playlist that somehow every high school in America had collectively decided was The Soundtrack of June 2026.

"Yeah, just gotta..." I gestured vaguely at Maya, who was currently shaking pond water onto everyone's towels like she owned the place.

Tyler laughed. "She's living her best life."

"Mood," I said, because sometimes you just gotta commit to the bit.

Later, when everyone else was doing TikTok challenges in the shallow end, I found myself sitting on the edge with Maya, watching the sunset reflect off the water. Tyler sat down beside me, not filming anything for once.

"You okay?" he asked.

"Just tired of the performance, you know?" The words slipped out before I could stop them. "Like everything has to be content."

"Same," he said, quiet. "Sometimes I just wanna... exist without documenting it."

We sat there for twenty minutes. No phones, no posts, no performance. Just two people and a wet dog watching the sky turn purple.

That night, I finally took my vitamin. But the real supplement had been that unposted moment—raw, unfiltered, and completely invisible to everyone who mattered. Some things aren't for the feed. Some things are just for living.
