The Time-Travel Pyramid
Lily loved running through her grandmother's attic, filled with mysterious treasures from around the world. But nothing had ever prepared her for what she found that rainy Saturday afternoon.
Hidden behind a dusty trunk sat a small golden pyramid, no bigger than her hand. It gleamed with an inner light, as if someone had trapped a sunset inside its metal walls. Lily reached for it, her fingers trembling with excitement.
"Be careful, little explorer," whispered a voice. Startled, Lily looked around. The voice seemed to come from a thick cable coiled like a silver snake beside the pyramid. The cable pulsed with blue light, its tip reaching toward the ancient artifact.
"Who are you?" Lily asked, her heart racing.
"I'm Cable," the silver line replied. "The Keeper of Connections. And that pyramid? That's the Time-Travel Pyramid of Ancient Egypt. It's been waiting for someone brave enough to use it."
Lily's eyes widened. "Time travel? For real?"
"Only if you're running on courage, not just curiosity," Cable said seriously. "The pyramid needs a true friend to activate it. Someone who promises to use it for helping others, never for selfish reasons."
Lily thought about her best friend Miguel, who had lost his favorite lucky marble yesterday. He'd been so sad, and she wished she could help him find it. But time travel wasn't about small things like lost marbles... or was it?
"I promise," Lily said solemnly. "I'll use it to help people, especially my friends."
Cable glowed brighter. "Then take my hand—well, my end." Lily touched the cable's glowing tip, and suddenly the pyramid spun faster and faster until it became a blur of golden light. The whole attic swirled around her like a magnificent tornado.
When the spinning stopped, Lily wasn't in the attic anymore. She stood in a desert oasis, and there, playing in the sand, was a young boy from ancient times. He looked lonely.
"Hello!" Lily called, running toward him. "I'm Lily!"
The boy's face lit up. "I'm Khaled. Will you play? I've been alone for so long."
They played until sunset, building sand pyramids and laughing. When Lily had to return, she realized the real magic wasn't just the time travel—it was the friendship she'd made across thousands of years.
Back in the attic, Lily hugged Cable. "Thank you. I understand now. The pyramid shows us that friendship connects everyone, no matter how far apart we are."
"Exactly," Cable glowed warmly. "And now you're one of the Time-Travel Keepers. But remember—the greatest adventures aren't about where you go, but who you share them with."
From that day on, Lily knew that running toward friendship was the most important journey anyone could take.
