The Thunder Pool's Magic

Mia's golden retriever, Sunny, had always been afraid of thunder. But one summer evening, as lightning flashed across the purple sky, Sunny didn't hide. Instead, she trotted toward the backyard pool, her tail wagging like metronome.

Mia followed, clutching her iPhone. Dad had said, "Take pictures of the storm!" But what she saw made her forget everything.

The pool water wasn't water anymore. It was glowing silver, rippling with every lightning flash. And Sunny was walking right onto it—like it was solid ground!

"Sunny!" Mia cried. But her dog just looked back, eyes twinkling, then disappeared through a shimmering circle in the middle of the pool.

Mia's iPhone slipped from her hands, but instead of sinking, it floated. The screen showed something impossible: through the camera, she could see Sunny in a magical world beyond the pool, playing with tiny creatures made of light.

A small figure flew toward her—a fairy with wings like lightning bugs.

"You've discovered the Thunder Pool," the fairy chimed. "Only those with wonder can see its magic. But you need courage to cross."

From her pocket, Mia pulled her morning vitamin. "This is my courage vitamin," she said, though it was really just a cherry chewable. But believing made it true. She swallowed it, closed her eyes, and stepped onto the silver surface.

It held her!

She found herself in a world where rainbows grew like flowers, and lightning bugs told stories. Sunny was there, no longer afraid, because in this magical realm, thunder wasn't scary—it was the applause of the sky.

"This world exists because children believe in magic," the fairy explained. "Your iPhone captured wonder because you looked with your heart."

When Mia returned, the pool was just a pool again. But now, every lightning storm was an adventure, not something to fear. Sunny still hated thunder, but Mia knew the truth: sometimes, the things we fear most are doorways to magic—if we're brave enough to step through.

That night, she photographed her vitamin bottle and wrote: "Courage Vitamin: Helps you see magic in unexpected places."
