The Thunder Game Court
Lila and Marco discovered the old padel court behind the oak tree on the stormiest afternoon of summer. The metal fence rattled as gray clouds swirled overhead like giant cotton balls.
"Let's play!" Marco shouted, grabbing his racquet.
But before Lila could answer, CRACK! A bolt of lightning struck the center of the court. Instead of burning, the blue-white light wrapped around the net like glowing ribbons. The sand beneath their feet began to sparkle.
"Look!" Lila gasped. The court had transformed into a shimmering game board with three paths: red, yellow, and blue.
A tiny dragon made of lightning zipped overhead, leaving a trail of sparkles. "Choose your path!" it squeaked. "But choose wisely - only friendship leads home."
Marco started running toward the red path. "I'll win!"
"Wait!" Lila called, running after him. "The dragon said we need to choose together!"
On the red path, Marco encountered a wall of fire. He couldn't pass alone. Lila caught up, and together they pushed through - the fire parted for two, but would have stopped one.
On the blue path, Lila got stuck at a river of stars. She couldn't cross alone. Marco returned, and their joined hands created a bridge of light.
Finally, they reached the yellow path together. Lightning butterflies guided them to a golden padel racquet floating in the air.
"Hit the thunder ball!" the lightning dragon cheered.
Lila and Marco swung together. The ball soared through the sky, painting a rainbow that carried them back to their yard. The storm had passed. A real butterfly landed on Marco's nose.
"Want to play padel for real?" Lila asked.
Marco grinned. "Only if we're on the same team."
The old court was ordinary again. But sometimes, when storms came, Lila and Marco would peek behind the oak tree, wondering if the lightning dragon would return for another game.
