The Thunder Cat's Magical Spark
Lily's cat Mittens was the fluffiest cat in the neighborhood. Her long orange hair stuck out in every direction, especially during winter when everything was dry and full of static. But today was different—today was the biggest thunderstorm Lily had ever seen.
Mittens sat by the window, her hair standing straight up like tiny orange needles. CRACK! BOOM! A bolt of lightning flashed across the sky, and suddenly, Mittens began to glow.
"Mittens!" Lily gasped. Tiny sparks of blue light danced across the cat's fur, making her look like a fuzzy little lightning bolt. Mittens purred louder than ever, and the sparkles grew brighter.
The power went out, leaving Lily's house in darkness. But Mittens kept glowing, walking through the hallway like a living nightlight. Lily followed her magical cat, watching in wonder as Mittens' charged hair illuminated every shadowy corner.
They found Lily's little brother Max crying in his room, scared of the storm. Mittens jumped onto his bed, and her comforting glow made the room feel safe again. Max stopped crying and reached out to pet the sparkling cat.
"Look, Max!" Lily whispered. "Mittens caught some of the lightning's magic!"
For the whole storm, the Thunder Cat stayed with them, her magical hair turning a scary night into an enchanted adventure. When the sun finally came out, Mittens' fur returned to normal, but she seemed extra proud.
"Some cats are just special," Mom said, scratching Mittens behind the ears. "And some magic only shows up when we need it most."
From that day on, whenever the sky grew dark, Lily knew her brave, magical cat would turn every storm into something wonderful.
