The Thunder Ball Game

Zara loved playing baseball at the park, especially when the sky turned dark and rumbling. The other children ran home when clouds gathered, but Zara stayed, hoping to catch a glimpse of the magic she knew happened up above.

One afternoon, as she swung her favorite padel paddle at imaginary balls, something extraordinary happened. A purple lightning bolt zigzagged down from the storm clouds and landed right beside her. To her amazement, the lightning transformed into a tiny, glowing boy.

"I'm Flash!" the boy sparkled. "I'm the fastest lightning bolt in the whole sky, but I'm in big trouble. The Thunder King has lost his power, and I need your help!"

Zara's eyes widened. "What happened to him?"

"He hasn't had his special vitamin for weeks!" Flash explained sadly. "It's called Joy-Vitamin, and it only comes from children's laughter when they play. But lately, all the children run inside whenever they see clouds. They're scared of the thunder, but it's really just the Thunder King cheering for his favorite sky teams!"

Zara looked at her padel paddle and baseball glove. An idea sparked like lightning. "What if we play baseball TOGETHER? Up in the clouds?"

Flash's eyes glowed brighter. "That's perfect! The Thunder King loves baseball!"

Holding onto Flash's hand, Zara shot up into the sky. The storm wasn't scary at all—it was the most magical baseball field she'd ever seen! Clouds formed the bases, and rainbow ribbons marked the field.

The Thunder King, a giant cloud figure with a crown, looked weak and gray. But when Zara started playing baseball with the lightning team, something wonderful happened. Every time she hit the ball with her padel paddle and made a great play, golden particles filled the air.

"The Joy-Vitamin!" Flash cheered. "Keep playing, Zara!"

The more she played, the stronger the Thunder King became. His gray color turned to fluffy white, his crown gleamed, and his thunder rumbled with happiness. Zara played game after game with her new lightning friends, forgetting all about time.

When she finally returned home, Zara discovered she'd only been gone for minutes. But everything had changed. Now when storms gathered, she didn't just see rain and thunder—she saw her friends playing the most magnificent baseball game in the sky.

And sometimes, if you look carefully during a storm, you might see Zara's padel paddle swinging in the clouds, hitting home runs that light up the whole sky with joy.
