The Thunder Ball Game

Max loved **baseball** more than anything. Every afternoon, he practiced in his backyard, dreaming of hitting the perfect home run. But today, dark clouds gathered overhead. CRACK! A bolt of **lightning** split the sky as Max's baseball sailed over the fence, landing right in Mrs. Willow's pond.

Max ran through the rain, splashing through puddles. When he reached the pond's edge, something magical happened. The **water** began to glow with swirling blue light, and a small creature popped up—a water sprite named Splash!

"You throw like a star!" Splash chirped, holding Max's baseball. "Want to play?"

Max couldn't believe his eyes. "You can play **baseball**?"

"I've never tried," Splash said, "but I'm excellent at **swimming**! Perhaps we could teach each other?"

Despite the storm, Max felt warm with happiness. He had found a new **friend**! For an hour, they played in the rain—Splash taught Max how to hold his breath underwater like a frog, and Max showed Splash how to throw a perfect pitch. The lightning flashed around them like sparklers at a party.

When Max's mother called him home, Splash promised, "Come back anytime! The water remembers true friends."

That night, Max realized something wonderful: sometimes the best adventures aren't the ones we plan. They're the surprises that find us when we're brave enough to explore the unknown, even on stormy days.
