The Swimming Spy Dog
Max was not an ordinary dog. His fluffy golden hair wasn't just pretty—it was magic! Whenever Max jumped into the lake, his hair would turn into tiny propellers that let him swim faster than any fish. But Max had a secret. He wasn't just swimming for fun. He was a spy!
The forest animals had told Max about a problem. The baby ducks kept getting stuck in the weeds at the deep end of the lake. Their mom couldn't reach them. "I'll help!" Max had promised.
Every day, the little dog would swim calmly across the lake, pretending to chase butterflies. But really, he was spying on the weeds. "Today's the day," he thought.
When nobody was watching, Max dove into the water. WHOOSH! His magical hair spun like tiny helicopter blades. ZOOM! He sped through the water like a furry torpedo.
There they were! Three fuzzy yellow ducklings tangled in green weeds. Max swam closer. His propeller-hair cut through the water easily. With his nose, he nudged the first duckling free. Then the second. Then the third!
The ducklings peeped with joy. They swam around their hero, the dog who could spy and swim and save the day.
Max's hair stopped spinning as they all reached the shore. Mama Duck waddled over, her eyes shiny with happy tears. "Thank you, Max! You're not just any dog. You're a super spy!"
From that day on, Max wasn't lonely anymore. The ducklings followed him everywhere, and all the forest animals knew: the swimming spy dog would always be there to help his friends.
