The Swimming Pyramid's Secret

Lily loved swimming more than anything in the world. Every Saturday, she'd splash and dive at the old community pool until her fingers wrinkled like raisins. But one hot afternoon, something magical happened.

As Lily dove deep to the bottom of the pool, she spotted something glowing through the blue water. A golden pyramid, small and mysterious, sitting on the pool floor. Her heart raced with excitement as she swam closer and reached for it.

The moment her fingers touched the smooth golden surface, the water around her began to swirl. Suddenly, Lily wasn't in the pool anymore—she was floating inside the most beautiful underwater kingdom she'd ever seen. Colorful fish swam in glittering schools, and coral castles rose from the sandy floor.

"Hello?" called a friendly voice.

Lily turned to see a green-skinned boy with messy hair and kind eyes. He looked a bit like a zombie from her storybooks, but instead of being scary, he was wearing swim trunks and a big smile.

"I'm Zed!" he said, doing a happy flip in the water. "I've been waiting for someone to find my pyramid for ages and ages!"

"You're... a zombie?" Lily asked, her eyes wide.

Zed laughed. "Yes, but not the scary kind! I'm a Water Zombie—I live down here and take care of the ocean. The problem is, I'm awfully lonely, and I've forgotten how to play."

Lily's heart went out to him. "I can teach you! Swimming is the most fun thing in the world!"

For hours, Lily taught Zed how to race, how to do cannonballs, and how to float on your back like a starfish. They played tag with curious seahorses and had competitions to see who could hold their breath the longest. Zed turned out to be the most wonderful friend—silly, kind, and full of giggles.

When it was time for Lily to go home, Zed pressed the golden pyramid into her hand. "Visit me anytime you want to go swimming," he said with a smile. "Just touch the pyramid underwater, and you'll find me."

Lily learned that day that things aren't always what they seem—and that the best friends can be found in the most unexpected places. Every Saturday now, she can't wait to go swimming, knowing her magical friend will be waiting for another adventure beneath the waves.
