The Sunlight Pyramid
Oliver was a small fox with a very big problem. His best friend, Barnaby the bear, had lost his roar. Without it, Barnaby couldn't scare away the grumpy clouds that kept blocking the sunshine from their forest home.
"I have something that might help," said Oliver, digging into his special pouch. He pulled out a glowing orange bottle. "My grandmother gave me these sunshine vitamins. They're made from captured sunbeams and golden honey. One sip, and you'll feel brave again."
Barnaby hesitated. The little bear had never been brave before. But Oliver was his friend, and friends trust each other.
The vitamin tasted like strawberry dreams. Suddenly, Barnaby's tummy felt warm and tingly, like a hug from inside out.
"Now," said Oliver, "we must climb to the ancient pyramid at the top of Whisper Mountain. Legend says that whoever stands at its peak under the full moon gets one wish."
The journey was long. They crossed rivers that sang lullabies and meadows where flowers nodded hello. When they finally reached the pyramid, its stone steps glowed with soft light.
But someone was already there—a grumpy old mountain troll guarding the path.
"No one passes," growled the troll. "Unless you can make me smile."
Oliver looked at Barnaby. The bear took a deep breath, thought about how much he loved his friend, and let out the smallest squeak.
The troll blinked. Then chuckled. Then laughed so hard that tears rolled down his green cheeks.
"That's the silliest roar I've ever heard!" the troll said, stepping aside. "You may pass."
At the pyramid's peak, under a sky full of twinkling stars, Barnaby made his wish. Not for a big roar or to be scary. He wished that everyone in the forest could have a friend like Oliver.
The pyramid flashed silver, and suddenly the grumpy clouds vanished. Sunshine poured down on every creature below. And Barnaby? He discovered he never needed a big roar after all. He had something better: a heart full of courage and the best friend in the world.
