The Sun-Vitamin Friend

Lily loved watching the pond behind her house. Every morning, she'd sit on the mossy bank and dip her toes in the cool water, dreaming of what lived beneath the surface.

One Tuesday, something magical happened. As the sun made the water sparkle like diamonds, a tiny head popped up! It was a blue creature with big eyes and shimmering fins—Bubbles the water sprite!

"Hello, Lily!" Bubbles said. "I've been watching you. You're the only one who believes in magic enough to see me."

Lily gasped. "I always knew something magical lived here!"

But Bubbles looked sad. "My home is in trouble. The pond is losing its sparkle because the underwater rainbow plants are fading. Without their magic, the water will turn dark and gray, and I'll have to leave."

Lily's heart hurt. "How can I help?"

"You're small enough to reach the hidden grotto where the sun-vitamin grows," Bubbles explained. "It's a glowing orange crystal that falls from the sunrise and sinks to the bottom. When the rainbow plants eat it, they stay bright and magical."

Lily didn't hesitate. She took a deep breath and dove into the water. Amazingly, she could breathe! Bubbles had given her the gift of water-breathing.

Together they swam past curious fish and sleeping turtles until they found a tiny cave with orange light pulsing from inside. The sun-vitamin!

But it was stuck under a heavy rock. Lily pushed and pushed. Bubbles helped too. Finally—SNAP! The rock moved, and the sun-vitamin floated free, glowing like a tiny piece of sunshine.

They brought it to the rainbow plants. As the plants ate the sun-vitamin, they burst into brilliant colors—red, blue, purple, green—filling the whole pond with light!

"You did it!" Bubbles cheered, hugging Lily. "You're not just my friend. You're my BEST friend!"

From that day on, Lily visited Bubbles every morning. The pond stayed magical and bright, and Lily learned that the best kind of friend is someone who'll dive into deep water to help you—someone who believes magic is real, even when others say it's not.

And every rainbow she saw reminded her of the day she saved a whole magical world with just one brave heart and one glowing sun-vitamin.
