The Storm Who Made Friends

lightningbullbear

Berry was a small bear with very big ears and an even bigger curiosity. She loved watching storms dance across the sky, her favorite part being the bright flashes that painted the darkness.

One evening, as Berry sat on her favorite rock watching clouds gather, she saw something amazing. A brilliant bolt of lightning struck the meadow below, but instead of disappearing, it formed the shape of a magnificent bull made entirely of glowing light!

Berry scrambled down the rocks, her heart pounding with excitement. The lightning bull stood there, his horns crackling with electricity, his hooves sparking against the grass. But his eyes were warm and kind, like golden honey.

"I'm Spark!" the bull said, his voice sounding like distant thunder. "I'm the last Storm Bringer. My job is to bring rain to thirsty farms."

Berry tilted her head. "But you're made of lightning. How can you help?"

"Watch!" Spark reared up and stamped his hooves. Lightning streaked from his horns, and gentle rain began to fall on the parched valley below.

But then they heard crying. A little fox was trapped by rising water in a ravine!

"I can't swim well enough to help," Berry said worriedly. "And you might shock the water!"

Spark's golden eyes narrowed with determination. "Together, we can do this. Berry, you guide me. I'll light the way!"

Working as a team, Berry called directions while Spark used his lightning to illuminate dark spots and create small bridges of energy. They rescued the frightened fox, who shook off water and thanked them profusely.

"You two make a wonderful team!" the fox said.

Berry and Spark looked at each other and grinned. From that day on, the small bear and the lightning bull became best friends. Whenever storms came, Berry would climb to her rock to watch her friend bring life-giving rain to the valley.

Sometimes the best friends are the ones you least expect — and when you work together, you can weather any storm.
