The Storm Walker's Secret
Lily loved watching storms from her window. One night, when lightning flashed across the sky like silver ribbons, she saw something amazing. A tiny calico cat sat on her fence, but this wasn't an ordinary cat. With each lightning strike, the cat's fur glowed like a little star.
"Come inside!" Lily called, opening her window. The cat jumped in gracefully, shaking raindrops from her whiskers. "I'm Mizzle," the cat said. "I collect stories from storms."
Lily's eyes widened. A talking cat! Mizzle explained that during thunderstorms, magical things happened. "Tonight's special," Mizzle purred. "The Storm Walker visits."
The Storm Walker turned out to be the most gentle bear Lily had ever seen. His fur was brown as chocolate, his eyes warm as honey. He carried a lantern made from captured lightning, which glowed softly.
"Every storm, I gather lightning's magic," the bear rumbled kindly. "It powers the dreams of children who are afraid of thunder."
Lily had always been scared of storms. But tonight, she watched as the bear carefully placed glowing lightning pieces into glass jars. Each one would help a child sleep peacefully.
"I wish I could help," Lily whispered.
Mizzle nudged her hand. "You can. Your courage makes the magic stronger."
So Lily sat with them, listening to the rain, watching the bear work. She wasn't afraid anymore. The lightning wasn't scary—it was beautiful magic that helped people.
When dawn came, the bear gifted her a small lightning crystal. "Keep this near. Remember: storms bring magic, not fear."
Mizzle curled up on Lily's pillow. "I'll visit whenever storms come. We're storm friends now."
From that night on, Lily never feared thunder. Instead, she watched for Mizzle on the fence and remembered the gentle bear who turned scary storms into beautiful magic.
