The Storm That Brought Friends

Mittens was a small orange cat who lived in a cozy garden. She loved watching the clouds float by, but today something magical happened. Lightning flashed across the sky in brilliant purple streaks — not scary lightning, but dancing, sparkling lightning that tickled the clouds.

Mittens peeked behind the rosebush and saw someone else watching the light show too. A clever red fox named Rusty sat there, his fluffy tail wrapped around his paws.

"Did you see that?" Mittens whispered. "The lightning made the sky look like raspberry sherbet!"

Rusty smiled. "My grandmother told me storms like this bring surprises. She says friendship vitamins fall from the clouds during magical lightning."

"Friendship vitamins?" Mittens tilted her head.

"Little specks of magic that help creatures become friends," Rusty explained. "But we have to find them together."

The two new friends searched the garden. Finally, under the papaya tree, they found glowing golden dust scattered on a large papaya fruit that had fallen during the storm.

"That's it!" Rusty exclaimed. "Friendship vitamins!"

They shared the sweet papaya, and with every bite, they felt warmer and happier. They learned that Rusty was excellent at finding the best napping spots, and Mittens knew exactly which garden bugs were the tastiest to chase.

From that day on, whenever lightning danced across the sky, the cat and fox would meet under the papaya tree. Because sometimes, the best surprises come from the most unexpected storms — and the best friendships are the ones that find you when you're not even looking for them.
