The Storm Team

Leo loved two things more than anything else: swimming in the old quarry pond and playing baseball with his friends Mia and Sam. But today, the sky had other plans.

Dark clouds gathered like giant gray monsters. Lightning cracked across the sky, making the whole world bright and scary.

"Home practice cancelled," Leo sighed, kicking at a pebble.

Then Mia pointed. "Look! Behind the old oak tree!"

A thick black cable curled around the tree trunk, shimmering with silver light. It hadn't been there yesterday. But stranger still, the cable was humming with energy, alive and magical.

Sam stepped closer. "It's like it's calling us."

The three friends followed the cable through the woods. It snaked over rocks, under fallen logs, and straight toward the quarry pond. Where the cable touched the water, the surface began to glow.

Suddenly, lightning struck the pond!

But instead of sizzling and steam, the lightning turned into thousands of tiny golden baseballs that hovered over the water like fireflies.

"Pick up a bat!" Mia shouted, though she didn't know where the words came from.

A baseball bat floated toward each of them. But when they gripped the handles, something amazing happened—their feet lifted off the ground!

They were swimming through the air! All those practice sessions at the quarry had taught them exactly how to move through open space, but now the air was their water.

Leo swam forward and swung at a golden ball—POW! It shot across the sky trailing rainbow light. Mia and Sam cheered as they glided through the air, chasing balls that burst into tiny fireworks when hit.

For one magical hour, they played the most wonderful game ever invented—air baseball, powered by storm magic and friendship.

When the last golden ball faded, they floated gently back to the ground. The cable had vanished.

"Did that really happen?" Sam asked, eyes wide.

Leo grinned. "Next storm—I'll bring the extra bats."

And somewhere, deep in the woods, the cable waited for friends brave enough to believe in magic.
