The Storm Spy Squad
Lila loved water more than anything. Every summer day, she went swimming in Crystal Lake, diving deep to find treasure at the bottom.
One afternoon, dark clouds gathered. Thunder rumbled like a giant's tummy. Lila spotted something strange—a tiny blue creature peeking from behind a rock. It had shimmering wings and looked scared.
"I'm Splash," the creature whispered. "I'm a water sprite."
Lila gasped. "A real magical sprite?"
Splash nodded. "I'm on a secret mission. I'm a storm spy!" She pointed at the clouds. "My job is to watch lightning and make sure it doesn't hurt anyone. But tonight, the lightning is acting wild. It's forgotten how to dance gently in the sky."
Lightning flashed across the dark sky.
"See?" Splash trembled. "I need to remind the lightning to be kind. Will you help?"
Lila's heart raced with excitement. "Yes! But how?"
"We must swim to the Lightning Tower in the middle of the lake. Only from there can we send our message of friendship to the sky."
The wind howled. Rain began to fall, making circles on the water's surface. Lila hesitated—swimming during a storm was dangerous.
Splash took her hand. "Together, we're brave. Together, we're strong."
Lila smiled. Together, they could do anything.
They swam through choppy waves, Lila's strong strokes matching Splash's gentle fluttering. When lightning flashed, Splash sang a beautiful song that made the bolts soften and glow warm instead of fierce.
At the Lightning Tower, an ancient stone pillar rising from the lake, they found a glowing crystal. "This connects to the sky," Splash explained. "Touch it and wish with all your heart."
Lila placed both hands on the crystal. She wished for the lightning to remember its gentle dance, to bring wonder instead of fear.
A brilliant light shot upward. The sky shimmered. Then—magic! The lightning began to dance in graceful patterns, painting the night with golden ribbons.
"You did it!" Splash cheered. "You taught the lightning that kindness is the greatest power of all."
As the storm turned into a beautiful light show, Lila learned something important: even the scariest things just need a little friendship to show their true, wonderful selves.
From that night on, whenever Lila went swimming, she always waved at the gentle lightning that danced just for her—and for her secret friend, the bravest little storm spy in the world.
