The Storm's Secret Gift
Luna was a small orange cat who loved **running** through meadows, chasing butterflies and leaping over logs. But Luna had a secret fear: she was terrified of storms.
One evening, dark clouds gathered. Thunder rumbled like a giant's tummy. Luna trembled under a bush, her ears flat against her head. That's when she heard it—a deep, sad sniffle.
Peeking out, she saw Barnaby, a giant brown **bear**, curled into a ball. Barnaby was the biggest bear Luna had ever seen, yet he looked tiny and scared.
"Storms frighten me," Barnaby whispered. "I'm supposed to be brave, but I'm not."
Luna's heart went out to him. She crept closer. "I'm scared too," she admitted. "Maybe we can be scared together?"
Barnaby smiled, and Luna snuggled into his warm fur. As rain began to fall, a brilliant flash of **lightning** painted the sky purple and gold. It was the most beautiful thing Luna had ever seen—like magic fireworks just for them.
"Look!" Barnaby gasped. "It's not scary. It's wonderful!"
Suddenly, Luna noticed something glowing near a tree. A perfect flower, transformed by the lightning, now shimmered with stardust. "The storm gave us a gift," she whispered.
Barnaby's eyes sparkled. "Being afraid together made it beautiful. When we're alone, storms are scary. Together, they're magic."
From that night on, Luna and Barnaby became best friends. They learned that some fears are easier to face with a friend by your side—and sometimes, the scariest things bring the most surprising gifts.
Whenever storms came, they would dance in the rain, watching the lightning paint the sky, grateful for the night a scared cat and a frightened bear found courage in each other.
