The Storm's Secret Gift
In a cozy cave at the edge of Whispering Woods lived a little bear named Benny. He was the smallest bear in his family, and often wished he could be big and strong like his brothers.
"You're perfect just as you are," said Misty, a clever calico cat who visited Benny every afternoon. She would leap gracefully onto the rocks while Benny lumbered behind. "Being small means you can notice things others miss."
One summer evening, strange rumbles echoed across the sky. The animals of the forest hid in fear, but Benny and Misty crept to the highest hill to watch. Great bolts of lightning danced across the clouds—purple, pink, and brilliant gold—painting the darkness with magic.
"Look!" cried Benny, pointing upward. Through a break in the clouds, they saw the Great Bull constellation, its stars twinkling like diamonds. The lightning seemed to swirl around it, creating a glowing pathway.
Suddenly, a single bolt of lightning struck the ground near them. But instead of burning, it transformed into hundreds of tiny butterflies made of light. They swirled around Benny and Misty, tickling their noses with glowing dust.
The butterflies carried them up into the clouds, where they met an ancient bull made entirely of starlight. "I am Taurus, guardian of the sky," he spoke in a voice like distant thunder. "You two showed courage when others hid. That is true strength—not size, but heart."
As a gift, the star-bull touched each of them with his glowing horn. When they opened their eyes, they were back on the hilltop. The storm had passed, but something had changed.
Benny discovered that whenever he helped others, tiny sparks of light would appear around him—a reminder that the smallest creatures can have the biggest hearts. And Misty gained the ability to understand the whispers of the wind.
From that night on, whenever storms came to Whispering Woods, Benny and Misty would dance in the lightning's glow, no longer afraid. They had learned their lesson: courage isn't about being fearless. It's about being brave enough to face your fears together with friends.
And somewhere high above, the Great Bull would smile down, his stars twinkling with pride.
