The Storm's Magical Gift
Lily loved rainy days. The way the sky turned gray and mysterious made her feel like anything could happen. Today was especially exciting—her cat Whiskers and dog Barnaby were acting strange, running in circles around the old oak tree in her backyard.
"What is it?" Lily asked, following them. Suddenly, the sky flashed with bright lightning! CRACK-BOOM went the thunder. But instead of being scared, Lily felt curious.
Whiskers meowed loudly and pawed at something shiny half-buried in the wet grass. It was an iPhone! But this wasn't just any phone—its screen was glowing with rainbow colors, even though it was turned off.
Barnaby barked happily as raindrops began to fall. Each drop that touched the phone made it sparkle like tiny stars. Lily picked it up carefully. The screen showed a message: *"Make a wish for someone else."*
"I wish Mrs. Higgins from down the street could see her granddaughter again," Lily whispered, thinking of how lonely the old lady looked.
Suddenly, the phone projected a hologram into the air—a video call! Mrs. Higgins' granddaughter appeared, looking surprised but delighted. They talked and laughed, and Lily set the phone on Mrs. Higgins' porch where she found it.
The magic phone had brought joy to someone who needed it most. Whiskers purred, Barnaby wagged his tail, and Lily learned something wonderful: sometimes the most magical gifts appear when we least expect them, especially when we think of others first.
As the sun came out, a real rainbow stretched across the sky. Lily smiled, wondering what other magic was waiting to be discovered.
