The Storm-Running Colt

High above the clouds, in a meadow made of sunset, lived a young colt named Nimbus. Unlike other foals in the Cloud Herd, Nimbus had a secret—when thunder rumbled, his hooves didn't just clip-clop. They glowed.

One evening, while the rest of the herd huddled safely during a storm, Nimbus felt something calling him. His heart raced as he stood at the edge of the cloud-meadow, watching jagged bolts of lightning crackle across the dark sky.

"I bet I can keep up," he whispered.

Nimbus started running. His hooves struck the clouds with a strange rhythm—padel-padel, padel-padel—a magical sound like rain on a tin roof. Each step sparked tiny silver lights beneath his feet.

Then the impossible happened. A lightning bolt flashed toward him, and instead of running away, Nimbus leaped INTO it.

The lightning didn't hurt him. Instead, it wrapped around his legs like glowing ribbons, and suddenly Nimbus was running FASTER than light itself. He zoomed through the storm bank, weaving between thunderheads, leaving trails of rainbow sparkles wherever he galloped.

"Wait!" squeaked a small voice. A frightened storm sprite named Zap was stuck in a cloud swirl, too scared to move.

Nimbus skidded to a stop, his lightning ribbons swirling around them both. "Hold onto my mane!" he called.

Zap grabbed on, and Nimbus ran again—padel-padel, padel-padel—carrying them both safely through the storm. When they reached the sunny side of the clouds, all the other storm sprites cheered.

"You're not just a colt," the oldest sprite said wonderingly. "You're a Storm-Runner. You can race through lightning and help anyone who's scared of the dark."

From that day on, whenever storms rolled across the sky, children on Earth would see a special kind of lightning—one that danced and played, leaving sparkles behind. They didn't know it was Nimbus, running his magical rhythm, padel-padel through the clouds, reminding everyone that even the scariest storms can become adventures with a little courage and a good friend.
