The Storm Magic

Lily had the wildest **hair** in Maple Street. It curled and twisted like vines, always escaping her bows. Her mom joked it had a mind of its own—and Lily secretly agreed.

One stormy afternoon, as **lightning** flashed across the purple sky, Lily noticed something strange. Barnaby, her golden **dog**, was scratching at the closet door. Inside, Muffin the **cat** sat gracefully beside the fishbowl, watching intently.

Lily gasped. Inside the bowl, her **goldfish**—normally a sleepy orange speck named Splash—was swimming in glowing circles, leaving trails of silver light.

"They're talking!" Lily whispered.

The lightning flashed again, and suddenly she could hear them too—not with words, but with feelings. Splash was lonely in his small bowl. Barnaby wanted to protect everyone. Muffin was curious about the fish's magic.

"Friends don't keep friends in bowls," Lily said, suddenly understanding.

Together (with Muffin carefully supervising), they carried Splash to the backyard pond. As the first raindrops fell, Splash darted into the larger water, growing bigger and brighter with joyful loops.

That night, Lily's hair felt extra wild—because magic makes everything more wonderful. She learned that the best kind of magic happens when you help friends be free together.
