The Storm Cloud's Secret Friend
Lily was a curious girl who loved watching storms from her window. One rainy afternoon, she spotted something peculiar in her garden—a gray, fuzzy creature sitting on her fence, looking very sad.
"Hello there," Lily called out softly. The creature jumped!
"Oh! You can see me?" the fuzzy thing said. "I'm a Cloud-Zombie, and I've lost my lightning spark. Without it, I can't fly back to the sky kingdom."
Lily had never heard of a Cloud-Zombie before, but she could tell he needed help. She decided to become a storm spy and investigate how to help her new friend.
"My name is Zappy," said the Cloud-Zombie. "I need storm vitamins to get my spark back. They come from lightning bolts!"
Lily's eyes widened with excitement. She had an idea! She ran to her garage and found an old copper cable. Her grandpa had once told her that copper could carry magical energy.
"I'll be your lightning helper," Lily promised. Together, they waited for the next storm.
That evening, dark clouds gathered overhead. CRACK! A brilliant lightning bolt flashed across the sky. Lily carefully held one end of the copper cable while Zappy touched the other. The magical lightning energy flowed through the cable, and Zappy began to glow!
"My storm vitamins!" Zappy cheered, spinning around as his gray fur turned bright yellow. "Thank you, Lily!"
Zappy floated into the air, now sparkling with tiny lightning bolts. "You're the best friend a Cloud-Zombie could ever have. Come visit me in the sky kingdom someday!"
Lily waved as her friend soared up through the clouds, leaving behind a small copper cable that now shimmered with starlight. She learned that helping others—no matter how different they might seem—is the greatest adventure of all.
And sometimes, the most wonderful friendships come from the most unexpected meetings in the most surprising weather.
