The Storm Cable Secret
Leo loved thunderstorms. While other kids hid under blankets, Leo pressed his nose against the window, watching the sky dance with flashing lights.
One evening, his grandmother handed him a small bottle. "Take your special vitamin," she said with a wink. Leo didn't mind - these vitamins sparkled like tiny stars.
That night, lightning flashed brighter than usual. Leo noticed something strange: a glowing cable snaked from the sky down to their backyard oak tree. It shimmered like liquid silver, pulsing with energy.
Curious, Leo crept outside. The cable hummed with power, and tiny sparks jumped along its length like excited fireflies. Where the cable touched the ground, a small door opened in the tree's roots.
"You're finally here!" a squeaky voice said.
A lightning bug - no, a Lightning Bug with a capital L - fluttered out. She glowed bright yellow, with a tiny backpack.
"I'm Flash," the bug said. "And those vitamins you take? They're not ordinary vitamins. They're concentrated storm magic! Grandma GiGi is the Guardian of Storms, and you're her apprentice."
Leo's eyes widened. "The cable..."
"It's how we collect lightning from storms," Flash explained. "But tonight, the cable is tangled! If we don't fix it, the storm magic will be lost forever."
Thunder rumbled. The cable twisted in the wind, knotting around branches.
"What can I do?" Leo asked.
"You've been taking storm magic vitamins for months," Flash said. "You're stronger than you think. Just believe!"
Leo reached toward the tangled cable. His hands tingled. The sparks loved him, dancing toward his fingers like happy pets. Carefully, he unwound the glowing line from the branches. Each time he freed a knot, the cable pulsed brighter, as if saying thank you.
Finally, the last knot released. The cable straightened, humming a cheerful song.
"You did it!" Flash zipped around Leo's head. "The storm magic can flow again!"
From that night on, Leo wasn't just a storm watcher. He was a Storm Helper, collecting magic in every vitamin bottle. And whenever thunder shook the house, he smiled, knowing the lightning cable was working its magic - with a little help from him.
