The Storm Bull's Secret Friend

Mila was a girl who loved to spy on interesting things. She would hide behind the old oak tree and watch squirrels hide acorns. She would peek around the corner to see Mrs. Higgins baking pies. But her favorite thing to spy on was the sky.

One afternoon, dark clouds gathered. Thunder rumbled like a hungry tummy. Mila ran to the meadow where the old barn stood. There, a gentle bull named Barnaby slept.

"Barnaby!" Mila cried. "The storm is coming!"

The bull opened his big brown eyes. But he didn't look scared. He looked excited.

Suddenly, lightning flashed across the sky. It wasn't scary lightning though – it was magical lightning that shimmered like rainbow glitter. Barnaby stood up and walked toward the nearby pond.

Mila followed quietly, curious to spy on what the bull would do.

Barnaby stepped into the water. But instead of just splashing, the water began to glow! The magical lightning had filled the pond with sparkling light.

Then something amazing happened. Tiny fish made of pure light swam up to Barnaby. They weren't afraid of the big bull at all. They nuzzled his nose like little puppies.

"You have a secret," Mila whispered, stepping out from behind her tree.

Barnaby turned his huge head. "I'm not just a bull who sleeps in barns," he said softly. "I'm a guardian of the magic lightning fish. They only come out during storms."

Mila gasped. "That's why you love rainy days!"

The bull nodded. "Most animals hide from storms. But the lightning fish need someone brave to watch over them. Will you help me?"

Mila's heart swelled with happiness. She wasn't just a spy anymore. She was a guardian too.

Together, the girl and the bull stood in the glowing water, watching over the magical fish as lightning danced above them. And that's how Mila learned that the most wonderful secrets are the ones you share with friends.
