The Storm Bull's Secret
Lila lived where the ocean kissed the sand, in a little house surrounded by swaying palm trees. Every morning, she would press her **palm** against her bedroom window and watch the waves dance.
One day, Lila found something extraordinary in a tide pool—a tiny **goldfish** shimmering like a living sunset.
"Please help!" the goldfish bubbled. "The great **bull** in the sky has forgotten how to rain!"
Lila blinked. "A bull in the sky?"
"He's made of clouds," the goldfish explained. "But he's lonely and sad. When storm clouds are sad, they hide their **lightning** inside instead of sharing it with the earth. Without rain, my tide pool will dry up, and the **papaya** trees cannot grow sweet fruit for the animals."
Lila's heart fluttered. She wanted to help.
"What can I do?"
"The Storm Bull needs to remember that clouds are meant to share, not hide," said the goldfish. "He needs a friend to show him kindness."
That night, Lila climbed the highest dune. Dark clouds gathered above, swirling into the shape of a massive bull. Its eyes glowed with trapped lightning.
"Hello, Mr. Bull!" Lila called out, waving both arms. "I brought you a present!"
She held up a perfect orange papaya she'd picked that morning. "This is the sweetest one from the tree. I saved it just for you."
The cloud bull hesitated. Then a single raindrop fell—then another, then a hundred. Lightning arced across the sky, beautiful and bright. The bull's form softened until it was just a gentle rain, watering the thirsty earth.
"Thank you," the wind seemed to whisper.
Lila's tide pool sparkled deeper than ever. The goldfish blew bubbles of gratitude.
From that day on, whenever Lila pressed her palm against her window, she waved at the clouds. And sometimes, just sometimes, a raindrop would tap back—like a friend saying hello.
