The Storm-Bull's Magic Gift

Lila was a small orange cat who lived on a sunny island filled with swaying palm trees and the sweet smell of ripe papaya in the air. Every day, she would curl up beneath the largest palm tree, watching the clouds drift by.

One afternoon, the sky turned dark purple. Lightning flashed across the horizon like golden cracks in a painted ceiling. Lila had never seen such a storm! Her whiskers trembled, but something made her brave. She crept toward the beach.

There, standing in the surf, was the most magnificent creature she had ever seen—a giant white bull with glowing silver horns that crackled with tiny sparks of magic. The bull wasn't afraid of the storm. He was summoning it!

"Hello, little one," the bull said gently. His voice rumbled like distant thunder. "I am Indra, the Storm-Bull. Every year, I must bring rain to these islands so the papaya trees grow sweet and strong."

Lila stepped forward, her fear replaced by wonder. "But the lightning is scary."

Indra lowered his massive head. "Sometimes the things we fear are exactly what we need. Without rain, there is no fruit. Without darkness, we cannot see the stars."

He lifted one hoof and pressed it against a papaya tree. Instantly, the fruit began to glow with a warm golden light. Indra smiled—a real smile, this time. "For your courage, little cat, I give you a gift. Whenever your island needs rain, touch this papaya, and I will hear you."

The Storm-Bull tossed his magnificent horns, sending one final bolt of lightning across the sky, and then dissolved into mist.

Lila ran home, her heart full of magic. She knew she would never be afraid of storms again. Some thunderstorms weren't just weather—they were old friends coming to visit, bringing gifts of rain and wonder.
