The Storm Bull's Lightning Game

Emma loved baseball, but she was too scared to join the neighborhood games. Her curly hair would bounce when she ran, and she worried everyone would laugh at her. So she sat on the sidelines, clutching her worn-out glove.

One afternoon, dark clouds gathered overhead. Thunder rumbled like a giant's tummy rumbling. The other kids ran home, but Emma stayed behind, practicing her swing under the old oak tree.

Suddenly, a magnificent bull appeared from the storm clouds. His coat was the color of storm clouds, and his hair crackled with lightning! Tiny sparks danced along his horns like fireflies.

"I'm Thunderfoot," the bull said gently. "I saw you practicing. Would you like to play?"

Emma's eyes widened. "But I'm not good enough."

Thunderfoot smiled. "Nobody starts good. They start brave."

He tossed her a ball made of pure lightning. It hummed in her hands, warm and tingling. Emma swung, and the ball sailed through the storm clouds, leaving a trail of sparkles.

"Wonderful!" Thunderfoot cheered. "Now, catch this!"

He threw a ball that flashed like a camera. Emma's hair stood on end as she leaped, her glove glowing. *SNAP!* She caught it, and lightning flowed up her arms, making her feel strong.

They played until the storm passed, Emma's hair now dancing with its own tiny lightning bolts. She felt brave for the first time.

"Will you come back?" Emma asked.

Thunderfoot nodded. "Whenever storms come, so will I. But Emma, the real magic isn't lightning or special bulls. It's believing in yourself."

The next day, Emma joined the neighborhood baseball game. Her hair still glowed faintly, reminding her of her magical friend. She wasn't the best player, but she was the bravest.

And sometimes, when summer storms rolled in, she'd see a familiar shape in the clouds, watching her play.

Emma learned that courage isn't about not being scared. It's about being scared and playing anyway. And that's the most magical power of all.
