The Starry Pool's Secret
Lila discovered the magical pool on the night of the blue moon. It wasn't an ordinary swimming pool in someone's backyard. No, this pool shimmered like liquid sapphires, hidden deep within the Whispering Woods where the trees told secrets to anyone who listened.
Lila had been running away from her worries — she'd forgotten to bring her favorite teddy bear on the family camping trip, and she felt lonely without her fluffy friend. But when she stumbled upon the glowing pool, everything changed.
A single palm tree grew beside the water, its fronds glowing with tiny fairy lights. "Touch my leaves," the tree seemed to whisper. Lila reached up and brushed her fingers against a palm frond. Suddenly, the pool's surface rippled, and a reflection appeared — not of Lila, but of a magnificent polar bear made entirely of starlight!
The star-bear climbed right out of the pool and shook its shimmering fur, scattering tiny constellations across the ground. "I've been waiting for someone brave enough to find me," the bear said in a voice like crunching snow and twinkling stars. "My name is Ursa, and I'm the guardian of forgotten wishes."
Ursa explained that the pool was a gateway between the waking world and the Realm of Forgotten Things, where all lost toys and memories went. "Your teddy bear is there," Ursa said kindly. "Would you like to visit?"
Lila nodded, her heart pounding with excitement. Ursa lowered her giant paw, and Lila climbed onto the star-bear's back. Together they plunged into the pool, but instead of getting wet, they fell through a tunnel of swirling colors and laughter.
In the Realm of Forgotten Things, mountains made of lost puzzle pieces rose beside rivers of spilled glitter. Lila found her teddy bear sitting on a cloud, having tea with other lost toys — a one-legged sock, a marble with a chip in it, and a wooden soldier missing his sword.
"We've been waiting for you!" her bear seemed to say, and Lila felt warm all over.
When Lila returned home, cuddling her teddy bear tight, she discovered something magical: she could now see the tiny lights that sparkled around everyday things. The pool had given her a gift — the ability to find wonder everywhere, even in ordinary moments.
And sometimes, when she looked up at the night sky, she could see Ursa running across the constellations, leaving trails of stardust for dreamers to follow.
