The Starry Pool Promise

Luna loved the night sky. Every evening, she would climb to the rooftop and wave her palm against the darkness, as if trying to touch the twinkling lights above.

One magical night, something extraordinary happened. A brilliant fox with fur like spun moonlight appeared at the edge of the rooftop. His amber eyes sparkled with ancient wisdom.

"Follow me," the fox whispered, his voice like wind chimes. "I have something wonderful to show you."

Luna slipped downstairs and trailed the silver fox through her sleeping town, past the bakery and the library, until they reached the old park. There, hidden behind weeping willows, glowed a pool she had never seen before. Its water shimmered like liquid starlight.

"This is the Star Pool," the fox explained. "Once every hundred years, it reveals the true form of things."

Luna gazed into the water. Suddenly, the constellation Taurus—the bull—rippled into view. But it wasn't just a pattern of stars. A magnificent bull with golden horns and a coat like midnight galaxies stepped from the pool, his hooves making no sound on the grass.

"You called me with your open palm," the bull spoke gently. "You wished upon the right star."

Luna's eyes widened. "I... I just wanted to see magic."

"Magic finds those who believe," the fox said, curling his tail. "Tonight, you become a Guardian of Wonder."

The bull lowered his massive head. "Place your palm upon my horn, and make a promise."

Luna reached up, her small hand touching the starlight horn. "I promise to always keep wonder alive. To share magic with others. To never stop believing in the impossible."

The pool flared brighter. When the light faded, the bull and fox were gone—but Luna's palm now glowed with a tiny silver star that would never fade.

Every night after, Luna climbed to her rooftop, palm raised to share her starlight with anyone who looked up and wished for magic.
