The Starry Night Promise
Lily gazed up at the glittering sky from her bedroom window. It was her third night in the new house, and she still hadn't made any friends. The stars twinkled like tiny fireflies, and she wished she had someone to talk to.
Suddenly, the brightest star began to shimmer and sparkle. It grew larger and larger until it burst like a golden bubble, and four magical creatures tumbled softly onto her windowsill.
First came a tiny cat made of silver stardust, with eyes like moons. Next, a brave little dog crafted from golden light hopped onto the sill. Then a gentle bull with a coat of sparkling red followed, and finally, a miniature palm tree with leaves that glowed emerald green appeared.
"Hello, Lily!" meowed the star-cat. "We heard your wish."
"We're the Star Friends," barked the star-dog, wagging his tail made of comets. "When children feel lonely, we come to play!"
The star-bull nodded wisely. "But you must make us a promise."
Lily's eyes widened with wonder. "What promise?"
The magical palm tree spoke in a voice like rustling leaves: "Promise to be brave and kind, even when things are scary. Promise to believe in magic, and to share it with others."
"I promise!" Lily whispered, pressing her hand to her heart.
The star-dog did a happy somersault. "Then let's go on an adventure!"
The creatures touched her nose with their sparkling paws, and suddenly Lily was floating through the night sky! They soared over mountains of cotton candy clouds and rivers made of moonlight. The star-cat showed her how to dance on constellations. The star-bull taught her to roar like thunder, which made her laugh. The magical palm tree sprinkled stardust that made flowers bloom wherever they flew.
When they returned to her room, the Star Friends began to fade.
"We have to go back to the sky now," said the star-dog sadly. "But remember – real friends are waiting for you tomorrow at school. Just be as brave as a bull, as curious as a cat, and as loyal as a dog."
Lily hugged them all, one last sparkle against her cheek.
The next morning, Lily walked to school with her head held high. She saw a girl sitting alone at recess – just like she had been last night. Lily remembered her promise.
"Hi," Lily said with her bravest bull smile. "Want to play palm tree tag?"
The girl's face lit up. "Yes! I'm Mia!"
And that night, when Lily looked at the stars, she saw them twinkling extra bright – as if four tiny friends were winking at her, reminding her that magic is real, especially when you share it.
