The Starry-Night Bull
Lily lived in a cottage at the edge of the Whispering Woods, where moonlight danced through her window every night. She had the most extraordinary hair—it shimmered like spun silver and glowed softly when she was happy.
One evening, Lily heard gentle snoring coming from behind the old oak tree. There, curled among wildflowers, slept a magnificent creature. His coat was midnight blue with silver spots like tiny stars, and his horns curved like crescent moons.
A bull. But not just any bull—this was a Starry-Night Bull, the last of his kind, who had fallen from the constellations above.
"Hello," Lily whispered, kneeling beside him.
The bull opened one enormous eye. It held all the wonder of a thousand galaxies. He nudged her hand with his velvety nose, and Lily's hair began to glow brighter than ever before.
"I'm lonely," the bull spoke in a voice like wind chimes. "I've lost my way back to the sky."
"I'll be your friend," Lily promised. "We'll find your way together."
For three nights, they searched the forest for the magic portal that led to the stars. The bull carried Lily through streams and over hills, his constellation spots twinkling as they approached something magical. On the fourth night, they found it—an ancient archway of twisted vines that hummed with starlight.
"Will you remember me?" the bull asked sadly.
Lily smiled and pressed her glowing hair against his forehead. A single silver strand detached itself and wove through his fur, creating a new star between his constellation spots.
"Now you carry a piece of me, and I carry the memory of my friend."
The Starry-Night Bull stepped through the archway and dissolved into a thousand silver sparkles that floated upward, forming a new constellation in the night sky—the shape of a bull with one extra-bright star.
Sometimes, when the moon is full, Lily looks up and waves. And somewhere between the stars, her friend waves back with his velvety nose, reminding her that true friendship connects hearts across all distances, even from earth to sky.
