The Starry Cat's Promise
Luna loved the night sky more than anything. From her window, she watched the clouds drift like soft, silver **hair** across the moon's face. Her grandmother said the clouds were the sky's hair, combing itself in the darkness. Luna believed her.
One starry evening, a tiny creature fell from the constellation above. It landed with a soft *pop* in Luna's garden — a cat made entirely of twinkling starlight, with fur that glowed like captured galaxies.
"I'm Stella," the cat whispered, her voice sounding like wind chimes. "I slipped from the sky when I was chasing a comet dream. Now I can't get back."
Luna's heart raced with wonder. "I'll help you!"
Together, they climbed the ancient oak tree that touched the clouds. Its bark was warm beneath their fingers. At the very top sat the Great Bull — a magnificent creature made of moonlight and patience, with horns that curved like crescent moons. The Bull guarded the Star Bridge, the only way back to the constellations.
"Many have tried to cross," the Bull rumbled gently, his voice like distant thunder. "But only those with true kindness in their hearts may pass. Are you kind, little one?"
Stella's starlight fur shimmered nervously. "I chased a comet because I wanted it for myself. That was selfish."
Luna took Stella's paw. "You saved a bird that fell from its nest yesterday. You share your dreams with lonely stars. You're kind."
The Great Bull smiled, and his moonlight horns glowed warmer. "True friendship sees the goodness others forget. You may cross."
Luna and Stella walked across the Star Bridge, a path made of compressed starlight. With each step, Stella grew lighter, brighter.
"Thank you, Luna," Stella said as she reached her constellation. "Every night, I'll twinkle extra bright just for you."
And ever since, on clear summer nights, Luna looks up and sees one star shining warmer and brighter than all the others — her friend, keeping a promise made with love.
