The Starry Cable
Lily loved swimming at the old lake behind her house. Every evening, she'd watch the stars twinkle above the water, wondering what secrets they held.
One day, while exploring the shore, Lily found something peculiar—a golden cable shimmering in the moonlight. It pulsed with a soft, warm glow, unlike any charging cord she'd ever seen. Curious, she picked it up, and suddenly, her iPhone began to buzz with rainbow colors.
"Hello?" a deep, gentle voice rumbled from the phone.
Lily gasped. "Who's there?"
"I'm Ferdinand," said the voice. "The Great Bull of the Taurus constellation. I've fallen from the stars, and I'm stuck in your lake!"
Rushing to the water, Lily couldn't believe her eyes. A magnificent bull with fur that sparkled like diamonds was indeed swimming in the middle of the lake, his horns glowing with starlight.
"How did this happen?" Lily asked.
"I was chasing a shooting star," Ferdinand explained sadly. "Now I can't return home without starlight to guide me."
Lily looked at the magical cable in her hand, then at her iPhone displaying a glowing map of constellations. Suddenly, she had an idea.
"What if we use this?" She plugged the golden cable into her phone. The device projected a brilliant beam of starlight onto the water's surface, creating a path of shimmering light.
Ferdinand's eyes widened. "A bridge of stars!"
"Swim toward the light," Lily encouraged. "It will lead you home!"
With each powerful stroke, the bull swam along the starlit path. As he moved, the water beneath him turned into a swirling galaxy. The golden cable pulsed brighter, and Lily's phone played soft, magical music.
"Thank you, Lily!" Ferdinand called as he ascended, his body transforming into sparkling stardust. "You showed me that true friendship can bridge any distance."
As the last of Ferdinand's light joined the Taurus constellation, the golden cable dissolved into butterfly kisses against Lily's cheek. Her iPhone returned to normal, but now displayed a new app—a small constellation of a bull that winked whenever she touched it.
That night, Lily swam under the stars, no longer just wondering about the sky's secrets, but knowing she had a friend among them. Sometimes, she discovered, the most extraordinary adventures come from the most unexpected places—like a simple cable, a helpful phone, and the courage to believe in magic.
