The Starry Bull's Wish

Lila loved sitting on her grandmother's porch, listening to stories while the warm breeze rustled through the palm trees overhead. One magical night, her grandmother pointed to the sky.

"See those stars? That's Taurus the Bull," she said, tracing the shape with her finger. "Long ago, he was a real bull who lived among people."

Lila gasped. "What happened to him?"

"He made a wish upon the magic spring water in the hidden cave. The water grants one wish to those with pure hearts. Taurus wished to light up the darkest nights so children wouldn't be afraid."

Lila's eyes widened. "Is the cave real?"

Her grandmother smiled mysteriously and held out her hand. In her palm sat a small, glowing crystal that shimmered like starlight. "This will guide you. But remember, magic chooses its own adventures."

That night, Lila followed the crystal's gentle glow past the swaying palm trees, down to the secret cove where waves whispered against the shore. Behind the waterfall, she found it—a pool of water that sparkled like liquid diamonds.

A magnificent bull stepped from the shadows, his coat gleaming with constellations. "You found me," he said, his voice low and kind like distant thunder.

"I want to make a wish," Lila said bravely.

The bull nodded. "What does your heart truly desire?"

Lila thought about kids who were lonely, scared, or sad. "I wish for kindness to spread like starlight—touching everyone, everywhere."

The water swirled with rainbow colors. The bull's eyes shone with pride. "You have chosen wisely. Your wish is already beginning."

Lila felt warmth spread through her palm where she held the crystal. She understood—wishes work through us. Every smile, every helping hand, every kind word was starlight finding its way.

When she returned, grandmother was waiting. "What did you learn?"

Lila looked up at Taurus blazing in the night sky. "That the magic isn't just in the water. It's in us, in what we choose to give."

The palm trees sighed in the wind, and somewhere far away, another child looked up at the stars and felt a little less alone.

Lila's wish had only just begun.
