The Starry Baseball Pool

Leo loved baseball more than anything. Every evening, he'd practice in his backyard under the stars, swinging his bat until fireflies danced around him. But tonight was different. When Leo hit his favorite baseball, it sailed over the fence and landed in the middle of the old swimming pool that had been empty for years.

But when Leo crept closer to find it, the empty pool wasn't empty anymore. It glowed with a soft silver light, filled not with water, but with sparkling stars that swirled like a tiny galaxy. Leo's baseball bobbed on the surface of this magical star-pool.

He reached for it, and a deep, rumbling voice echoed from the shimmering depths. "Young one, I have waited a hundred years for someone brave enough to visit."

From the starry pool emerged a magnificent bull with a coat that gleamed like midnight and horns of twisted silver. But this bull wasn't scary at all—his eyes were kind and sparkled like constellations. "I am Orion," the bull said gently. "Once I was just a lonely farm bull, but the stars saw my kindness and made me their guardian."

Leo's fear vanished as Orion taught him how to play star-ball, hitting baseballs that turned into shooting stars across the sky. They played until the moon began to set.

"Tomorrow," Orion promised, sinking back into the glowing pool, "if you believe in magic, I will teach you to catch stardust."

Leo ran home, his heart full of wonder. He had discovered that magic hides in unexpected places—even in an old swimming pool—and that friendship can be found anywhere, even with a starry bull who loves baseball as much as he did.
