The Starry Baseball Bull

Lily loved her fuzzy golden dog, Barnaby, more than anything in the world. Every day after school, they played catch in the backyard with her favorite baseball—a magical one her grandmother had given her. It sparkled like it held tiny stars inside.

One windy evening, Lily threw the ball high into the sky. Barnaby leaped to catch it, but suddenly, the baseball kept going up, up, UP! It sailed right through a fluffy cloud and didn't come back down.

"We have to get it!" Lily told Barnaby. She spotted an old cable stretching from the telephone pole into the clouds—it looked like a silver ladder. "Come on, boy!"

Hand over hand, Lily climbed the shimmering cable, with Barnaby padding behind her like a brave mountain climber. When they reached the top, they gasped.

A giant bull with moonlight-colored hair was sitting on a cloud, holding the baseball gently. His name was Orion, and he was the Guardian of Fallen Stars. He explained that Lily's ball had once been a real star, transformed into something special just for her.

"I was just keeping it safe," Orion said with a kind smile. "But you showed such courage climbing all this way. Truly brave hearts deserve their treasures returned."

Orion handed back the baseball, and it glowed even brighter than before. As a gift, he plucked a strand of his moonlit hair and wove it into a bracelet for Lily.

"This will always remind you that even the biggest problems can be solved with bravery and a loyal friend," he said.

Lily and Barnaby climbed down the cable, their hearts full of magic. From that day on, whenever they played catch, the baseball shimmered extra bright, and Lily knew that friendship and courage could help her reach even the highest clouds.
