The Starlight Vitamin

catbearbullvitamin

Lily's cat, Whiskers, wasn't ordinary. Every Tuesday at midnight, he glowed like a tiny moon. One particularly sparkly Tuesday, Whiskers tapped Lily's nose with his paw. "Tonight we adventure!" he seemed to say.

Lily followed Whiskers through her bedroom window, and suddenly they were walking on clouds. Below them, the forest twinkled with fireflies. But something was wrong. A great brown bear sat alone on a mushroom, weeping tears that turned into tiny puddles.

"What's wrong?" Lily asked, kneeling beside him.

"I'm too grumpy," the bear sniffled. "No one wants to be my friend."

Whiskers purred and rubbed against the bear's fur. "Being grumpy just means you need something special."

Suddenly, a magnificent creature appeared — a bull made entirely of starlight, his horns glowing like crescent moons. "I've traveled from the constellation Taurus," he boomed gently. "And I bring you this."

The star-bull pressed something into Lily's hand: a single, glowing pill.

"A vitamin?" Lily asked, puzzled.

"Not just any vitamin," the bull explained. "This is a Starlight Vitamin. One taste, and you'll see the magic in everyone — especially yourself."

Lily broke it into three pieces. She swallowed hers first — and suddenly the bear didn't look grumpy at all. He looked lonely, and kind, and wonderfully fuzzy. The cat's midnight adventures weren't weird anymore; they were brave and beautiful.

The bear ate his piece and gasped. "You two aren't annoying. You're my friends!" He wrapped them in a fuzzy hug that felt like being hugged by a warm blanket.

Whiskers purred so loudly he sounded like a little engine. "Every Tuesday, we three will adventure together!"

And they did. But the real magic wasn't the vitamin at all. It was what they'd learned: sometimes, seeing the good in others just starts with believing it's there.

Now Lily keeps the empty Starlight Vitamin bottle on her nightstand. It reminds her that friendship is the most powerful magic of all — and that grumpy bears, midnight cats, and star-bulls make the very best friends.
