The Starlight Pyramid Game
Lily, Ben, and Toby loved exploring the old park after school. One sunny afternoon, while running through the tall grass near the oak tree, Lily spotted something strange.
"Look!" she cried, pointing to a shimmering golden object half-buried in the dirt.
It was a tiny pyramid, no bigger than a shoebox, glowing with rainbow light. Ben carefully brushed away the dirt. As soon as his fingers touched it, the pyramid began to hum like a gentle lullaby.
Suddenly, WHOOSH! The park disappeared. The three friends found themselves standing on a floating island of purple clouds. Above them stretched a crystal sky filled with stars that twinkled like diamonds.
"Welcome, young ones!" a voice boomed.
From behind a giant mushroom popped a green zombie—but not a scary one. This zombie wore polka-dot pajamas and a goofy smile. His name was Zog.
"I'm the guardian of the Starlight Pyramid," Zog explained. "To return home, you must beat me at padel!"
"Padel?" Toby asked. "What's padel?"
Zog clapped his hands, and suddenly three starlight racquets appeared. The court stretched across the clouds, the net made of moonbeams. Zog tossed them a ball that sparkled like a mini supernova.
The game began! Zog was surprisingly good, hitting the ball with his green hands. But Lily, Ben, and Toby worked together. Lily was quick, Ben was strong, and Toby could jump higher than anyone.
"Remember," Zog called between hits, "the magic comes from friendship, not winning alone!"
They realized he was right. Instead of each trying to be the star, they passed the ball to each other, setting up the perfect shot. When they hit the final point together, a burst of golden light filled the sky.
"Well done!" Zog cheered. "You've learned the secret!"
The pyramid hummed again, and suddenly they were back in the park, the tiny pyramid now dark and ordinary-looking. But they all held something special—a small star-shaped token that glowed warm in their hands.
"Zog was right," Lily said, smiling at her friends. "Everything's better when we work together."
From that day on, whenever they played together at the park, they remembered the friendly zombie in his polka-dot pajamas and the most important lesson: friendship is the greatest magic of all.
