The Starlight Pyramid
Luna was no ordinary cat. Her hair shimmered like rainbows—pink at sunrise, gold at noon, and deep purple under the stars. The other cats laughed. "Cats don't have rainbow hair!" they'd say, chasing her away from the sunny barn.
One full-moon night, Luna ran far into the Whispering Woods until she reached a clearing she'd never seen before. There stood a pyramid made entirely of starlight, glowing softly against the night sky.
"Beautiful, isn't it?" a voice said.
Luna jumped. A silver fox stepped from behind a tree, his coat dusted with what looked like actual glitter.
"I'm Felix," the fox said kindly. "I've been waiting for someone like you."
"Like me?" Luna's rainbow hair turned nervous blue. "You mean someone weird?"
Felix laughed. "No, someone magical." He circled the starlight pyramid. "This pyramid appears once every hundred years. It grants one wish to the heart that believes in its own wonder."
Luna's hair swirled with excitement—now orange, now green. "Really?"
"But," Felix's golden eyes grew serious, "the wish only works if you wish for something true."
Luna thought hard. She could wish for normal fur. She could wish the other cats would like her. She could wish to be someone else entirely.
The starlight pyramid pulsed, waiting.
Luna looked at Felix, who smiled with all the warmth in the world. She looked at her rainbow fur, now shining every color at once.
"I wish," Luna said clearly, "to never stop being exactly who I am."
The pyramid blazed brighter than a thousand stars. Light wrapped around Luna like a warm blanket, then settled gently into her rainbow hair.
"Your wish is granted," Felix said. "And here's a secret—I've been the guardian of this pyramid for three hundred years. Do you know why it appeared tonight?"
Luna shook her head.
"Because," said the silver fox, "I was once a cat with rainbow hair too."
And as the first birds began to sing, Luna understood: the most magical thing about being different is finding someone else who celebrates it.
