The Starlight Pool Spy
Lily loved the water more than anything. Every day after school, she begged her mom to take her to the swimming pool. The cool blue water felt like magic against her skin, and she could swim for hours without getting tired.
But Lily had a secret. Every evening at twilight, she would sneak back to the pool and hide behind the big oak tree. She wasn't breaking rules — she was a spy on a very special mission.
One evening, just as the sky turned purple, Lily saw something amazing. Tiny lights were dancing on the surface of the pool. They weren't fireflies. They were actual little stars, fallen from the sky, swimming and splashing in the water!
The stars laughed and played, diving deep and shooting back up like underwater fireworks. They shone so bright that the whole pool glowed with soft silver light. Lily held her breath, watching the most beautiful sight she had ever seen.
Then one star noticed her hiding behind the tree. Instead of flying away, it swam right to the edge and floated up like a tiny bubble.
"We're cooling off before returning to the sky," the star twinkled. "Want to join us?"
Lily couldn't believe it! She tiptoed to the pool's edge and dipped her toes in. The water felt warm and sparkly, like melted sunshine. The stars welcomed her with happy twinkles, and soon Lily was swimming among them, laughing as they created rings of light around her.
From that night on, Lily became a different kind of spy. She was the guardian of the secret star pool, making sure no one disturbed her starry friends while they rested. And whenever she looked up at the night sky, she waved at her friends, knowing they were waving back.
Some secrets, Lily learned, are worth keeping — especially the magical ones that fill your heart with wonder.
