The Starlight Pool

Mia loved visiting her grandmother's house by the sea. Every night, she would sneak out to the hidden cove behind the garden, where the moonlight danced on the water like tiny silver fish.

One magical evening, Mia cupped some seawater in her palm and made a wish—to see the stars up close. Suddenly, the water in her hand began to glow!

Out of the starlight pool emerged three sparkling creatures: a great bear with fur like constellations, a clever cat with eyes like twin moons, and a gentle bull whose horns were made of rainbow light.

"We are the Star Friends," the bear rumbled softly. "Your wish has awakened us."

The cat, whose name was Luna, purred, "We've been sleeping in the stars for a thousand years. Thank you for calling us back to play!"

Bramble the bull knelt so Mia could climb onto his back. "Hold on tight! Tonight, we show you the universe!"

Together they soared into the night sky, past the moon and through clouds that tasted like cotton candy. Mia laughed as they raced comets and slid down rainbows.

But soon, Mia grew sleepy. The Star Friends returned her to the cove, where the first light of dawn was painting the sky pink.

"Will I ever see you again?" Mia asked, her palm still tingling with stardust.

Luna the cat touched her nose to Mia's forehead. "Whenever you cup water in your palms under the stars and think of us, we'll be there. Friendship, true friendship, bridges all distances."

Mia ran back to grandmother's house, her heart full of magic. She knew that even on the darkest nights, her Star Friends would always be twinkling above, ready to share another adventure whenever she wished upon the water.

Now, every time she visits, Mia saves her wishes for the starlight pool. And sometimes, just sometimes, she sees a flash of constellation fur or moon-bright eyes winking from the sky above.
