The Starlight Padel Field
Leo lay in bed, hugging his stuffed bear Barnaby tight. Outside his window, the full moon glowed like a giant pearl. Tomorrow was the big baseball game, and Leo couldn't sleep. What if he dropped the ball? What if he struck out?
"I wish I could practice forever," he whispered.
Barnaby's glass button eyes seemed to twinkle. Suddenly, a tiny figure fluttered through the window—a girl with wings like a dragonfly, holding a glowing racquet.
"I'm Padel!" she chirped. "I heard your wish. Come play in the Starlight Field!"
She sprinkled glittering dust, and Leo felt light as a dandelion seed. He and Barnaby floated through the ceiling and into the night sky.
Below them lay a meadow filled with sparkling flowers. But something else was there too—a magnificent bull made entirely of stardust, with galaxies swirling in his horns.
"I'm Orion," said the bull softly. "I guard the dreams of children who try hard."
Orion handed Leo a baseball that glowed like a miniature moon. "In the Starlight Field, you play with courage, not just skill."
Padel zoomed around the outfield. "I'll be your teammate! Barnaby can be the umpire!"
They played the most magical game ever. When Leo threw the ball, it trailed rainbow ribbons. When Padel hit it, stars burst like fireworks. Barnaby called every play with his stuffy bear grin.
Orion fielded balls with his gentle nose, never letting one drop. "You see," he rumbled, "the secret isn't being perfect. It's playing with joy and helping others."
Leo smiled. He'd been so worried about winning, he'd forgotten how much fun it was just to play.
As the first pink light of dawn appeared, Padel flew them back through the window. Orion's voice echoed softly: "Remember, courage is simply love doing something brave."
Leo hugged Barnaby, now certain of one thing—tomorrow's game would be wonderful, win or lose. Because somewhere among the stars, his friends were cheering him on.
