The Starlight Padel
Lily had never been good at sports. Every time she played anything, she tripped over her own feet. But today was different. Today, she'd found the magic.
It started with a cat. Not just any cat—a silver tabby with glowing amber eyes who appeared at her bedroom window at midnight.
"I'm Luna," the cat said. "And you're coming with me."
Lily rubbed her eyes. "You can talk?"
"I can do more than talk." Luna's tail twitched. "Grab my tail, but don't let go, no matter what."
They tumbled through starlight and spun past galaxies until they landed on a court made of moonbeams.
"What is this place?" Lily whispered.
"The Starlight Padel," Luna purred. "Where magic happens."
A padel racket materialized in Lily's hand—sparkling with constellations. Across the court, a friendly shadow appeared. It looked like a boy her age, made entirely of starlight.
"I'm Orion," the shadow-boy said. "Want to play?"
Lily had never played padel before. But somehow, her body knew what to do. She swung the racket, and the ball—which was actually a tiny glowing planet—sailed through the air.
Orion hit it back, and they played the most magical game ever. Every shot created bursts of color. Every point earned them new constellations in the sky.
"You're a natural!" Orion cheered. "Want to be friends?"
"Yes!" Lily cried. "But will I ever see you again?"
Luna appeared. "Every night, if you believe."
Lily woke up in her bed, wondering if it had all been a dream. But on her pillow lay a tiny silver tennis ball, glowing with starlight.
That night, Luna returned. And the next. And the next.
Lily learned that the best friend isn't always someone you can talk to at school. Sometimes, a friend is a magical cat. Sometimes, a friend is made of starlight. And sometimes, the things you think you're bad at become magical when you believe in yourself.
Every night now, Lily plays padel in the stars. And every morning, she wakes up braver, knowing that magic is real, friendship comes in all forms, and the most wonderful adventures begin when a cat appears at your window.
The end.
