The Starlight Cat's Secret
Lily discovered the hat beneath her grandmother's attic stairs—purple with silver stars around the brim. When she slipped it on, her bedroom dissolved into shimmering light.
A cat appeared—orange as sunset, emerald eyes glowing like lanterns. 'I'm Mango,' the cat announced. 'That hat chose you.'
Lily gasped. 'You can talk?'
'Magical cats always can.' Mango purred. 'The moon is waiting.'
The hat tingled as Mango led her through a window onto a mysterious beach. A solitary palm tree swayed without wind, and beneath it bubbled a spring with water sparkling like liquid diamonds.
'This is the Dream Spring,' Mango explained. 'Each drop is a starlight vitamin for your imagination.'
'Vitamins?' Lily giggled.
'Things that make you grow strong inside,' Mango said. 'These grow your dreams.'
Lily cupped her hands and drank. The water tasted like stardust and wishes, and suddenly she understood—her stories weren't just words. They were seeds, and this water would help them bloom.
'Will you come back?' Mango asked as Lily's bedroom began to reform.
'Every night,' Lily promised, keeping the hat close. 'And I'll bring stories to plant.'
The cat winked. 'That's the secret, Lily. Imagination plus magic equals unlimited adventure.'
Lily woke to sunlight streaming through her window. The purple hat rested on her nightstand, silver stars winking. In her journal, she wrote about a magical cat who taught her that the best vitamins for imagination come in drops of stardust, friendship, and dreams.
